We are delighted to announce the first Indian classical concert in this year's Auspicious Autumn season at Meherabode.
Returning to the West Coast (after their first US tour in 2008) will be Partho Sarothy and Paul Livingstone -- musicians respectively from Kolkata and Los Angeles, both of them fellow disciples of the late, legendary musical genius Pandit Ravi Shankar. On tabla will be the noted Kolkata/Los Angeles artist Shashanka Bakshi.
Partho and Paul will regale us with the balanced blend of deep sarod and sweet sitar, one of the finest blends in Indian music.
- Date: Sunday, September 28, 2014
- Time: 5:00 PM
- Suggested donation: $20 ($15 students)
- Organic, vegan dinner (free of charge) after concert
With this concert, the artists will be celebrating their first CD release on Qwest Records in India. On this CD, they performed the classic Hemant, a raga creation of their grand-guru Ustad Allauddhin Khan in the tradition of the Maihar Gharana.
Please come enjoy the elevating beauty of Indian classical music!
